How we rate casinos
Every trust score on Frankly is calculated from a formula, not editorial opinion. Five factors, weighted by importance, produce a single number from 0 to 10.
We publish the formula so you can verify any score yourself. If a casino scores poorly, you can see exactly why. No casino pays for a higher score or preferential ranking.
Trust Score = Licence (0–2.0) + Complaints (0–2.0) + Withdrawal (0–2.0) + Fairness (0–2.5) + RTP (0–1.5)
Maximum possible score: 10.0 · Minimum: 0.0 · Recalculated on every data change
Licence & Track Record
We verify every casino's regulatory licences against official public registries — but the licence is a starting point, not the whole picture. A strong regulatory regime matters, but so does the operator's actual track record: how long they've been running, how they handle complaints, and whether they've survived scrutiny at scale. A Curaçao casino operating reliably since 2017 is a different proposition from one that launched last month. Longevity earns a bonus because time is the hardest test to fake.
Complaint Resolution
We aggregate complaint data from public dispute databases. What matters is not just volume, but resolution rate. A casino that resolves 90%+ of complaints scores full marks. High volume with high resolution is better than low volume with poor resolution.
Withdrawal Speed
How quickly can you actually get your money? We track reported withdrawal times. Same-day payouts score the maximum. Anything over 5 days is penalised heavily.
Bonus & T&C Fairness
This is where Frankly goes deeper than anyone else. Wagering requirements are the hidden cost of every bonus — we score the multiplier, what it applies to (bonus only vs deposit + bonus), whether the bonus is sticky or non-sticky, max bet limits, cashout caps, and expiry windows. A 25× bonus-only non-sticky offer with no max cashout is dramatically fairer than a 50× deposit+bonus sticky offer with a £500 cap. The current Frankly market average is 35x wagering.
RTP Transparency
Does the casino publish Return to Player percentages? Provably fair games (verifiable on-chain) score the maximum. Per-game RTP data gets strong credit. A general average gets partial credit. No RTP data published scores zero.
What we don't do
No paid rankings
Casinos cannot buy a higher position. The formula determines order.
No editorial overrides
We don't manually adjust scores. If the data changes, the score changes.
No hidden factors
Every component of the score is documented on this page. Nothing is secret.
